Through flexible, HR-on-Demand and advisory services, clients get the right level of support—when they need it—without the overhead of a full-time HR department.

With more than 20 years of experience across human resources, program management, and executive support, I’ve partnered with organizations to strengthen HR foundations, empower leaders, and turn operational gaps into practical, people-centered solutions. My background allows me to blend strategy with execution—so HR doesn’t just sound good on paper, it actually works in practice.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Oregon, along with professional certifications including SHRM-CP, Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM), and a Certificate in Contract Management from the University of California, Irvine. I also continually invest in industry-specific training to stay current and bring added value to my clients.

Beyond credentials, what sets me apart is my ability to make HR feel approachable, practical, and genuinely useful. Clients trust me because I understand their industries, respect their realities, and offer clear, honest guidance grounded in real-world experience. I make HR work for the business—not the other way around.

With me as your HR partner, you gain someone you can call for thoughtful advice, steady guidance through tough conversations, and support in building more engaged, effective teams. At the end of the day, HR is about helping people and organizations reach their full potential—and that’s exactly what Taryn M Consulting is here to do.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors with our toddler son, or my two adult bonus sons, watching Oregon Duck football, walking our wiggly special-needs boxer, traveling or soaking up much-needed girl time with my mom and sister.

My story.

Like many entrepreneurs, my journey began unexpectedly. If you had told me in college that I would one day own and lead a successful consulting business, I probably wouldn't have believed you. My freshman year at college, I received my first C in Business 101, and in my entrepreneurship course, the professor openly suggested that entrepreneurship wasn't really a path for women. 

Fast Forward, to March 2020, just as the world was shutting down during the global pandemic, I accepted a new position and returned to my roots in Human Resources. Two days later, I found myself unemployed.

What initially felt like a setback became the catalyst for Taryn M Consulting. I reached out to former colleagues and professional contacts, taking on projects ranging from job descriptions and employee handbooks to strategic HR consulting.

Those early opportunities quickly grew into serving as an Interim HR Director, developing compensation programs, leading workplace investigations, facilitating organizational change, and partnering with organizations across Oregon and Washington on their most complex people challenges.

Today, I partner with leaders to build stronger workplaces through practical, strategic HR solutions—and I'm grateful that an unexpected turn led me here. I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you.
